What is microsuction?
Microsuction is the method audiologists and ENT clinics use to remove ear wax safely. Using a gentle suction device and a magnified view inside your ear, our clinician removes the wax without water or syringing. It’s precise, clean, and far more comfortable than older methods — and you’ll usually walk out hearing clearly again.
Signs you have a wax blockage

What happens at your appointment
- We look inside your ear to confirm wax is the cause.
- We gently remove the wax using microsuction — usually just a few minutes per ear.
- You can watch on screen if you’d like to see what’s going on.
- We check your ear afterwards and give simple aftercare advice.
- The whole appointment takes around 30 minutes.
Should I soften the wax first?
Using olive oil drops for 3–5 days before your appointment can help, but it’s not always essential. If you’re not sure, book anyway — if your ears aren’t ready on the day, we’ll advise you and won’t charge for a procedure we can’t safely complete.
