Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information St Marks Pharmacy collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data lawfully under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Last updated: 3 July 2026.
Who we are
St Marks Pharmacy is an independent NHS community pharmacy at 42 Derby Road, Southport, PR9 0TZ, inside St Marks Medical Centre. We are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (premises GPhC No. 1089480). For the personal data described in this policy, St Marks Pharmacy is the “data controller”.
You can contact us about your data by phone on 01704 533369 or by email at stmarkssouthport@gmail.com.
What information we collect
When you fill in the booking or enquiry form on this website, we collect only the details you enter:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your postcode
- Your current pharmacy or GP (if you tell us)
- The service you are asking about
- Your preferred date and time
- Any message you choose to add
If your message includes information about your health or a medical condition, that is treated as special category (health) data and given extra protection.
We do not run advertising or analytics tracking on this website, so we do not build a profile of you or track you across other sites. See our cookie policy for detail.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
We use the details you submit only to respond to your request — to contact you, arrange or discuss an appointment, or answer your question. Our lawful basis for handling this is your consent when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services. Where your enquiry concerns your health, we handle that information for the provision of health care by a pharmacy professional (Article 9(2)(h) UK GDPR).
We will not use your details for marketing without asking you first, and we will never sell your data.
How your booking is sent to us
When you submit the form, your details are sent securely to the pharmacy’s email inbox using Resend (Resend, Inc.), a transactional email provider that acts as our data processor for this purpose only. This website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical information (such as your IP address and standard server logs) to deliver the site securely and protect it from abuse. Both providers are bound to protect your data and to process it only on our instructions. Some processing may take place outside the UK; where it does, it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum / Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep the information from your enquiry only for as long as we need it to deal with your request and any follow-up, and then we delete it. Where your enquiry becomes part of an NHS or clinical service you receive from us, the relevant pharmacy and NHS record-keeping rules apply to that record.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us to: give you a copy of the data we hold about you; correct it if it is wrong; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; and, where relevant, receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above. You will not usually be charged.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would ask that you give us the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
Draft for review. This policy should be checked by the superintendent pharmacist and the practice’s data protection lead, and the ICO registration number added, before the site is actively promoted to patients.
