There are two main options: an emergency contraceptive pill (the “morning-after pill”), and in some cases a copper coil fitted elsewhere. We can supply the morning-after pill after a short, confidential chat — so don’t wait.
Which pill, and how long do I have?
- Levonorgestrel — can be taken up to 72 hours (3 days) after, but works best as early as possible.
- Ulipristal acetate (ellaOne) — can be taken up to 120 hours (5 days) after.

Free on the NHS?
In many cases emergency contraception is available free of charge through the pharmacy — we’ll check whether you qualify and tell you before anything goes ahead. If it’s a private supply, we’ll give you the price upfront.
